In January I have a trip planned with Promise Keepers for a 11 day trip to Israel. I thought that I could blog before, during and after the trip in order to have a record. So here I go.....
Brenda has commented on more than one occasion that "you don't seem excited about your trip". My answer continues to be that because all the details are already set up and there is nothing for me to plan.... I'm just relaxed about the whole thing! For most trips I get into all the planning and all the details. All the when, where and how stuff. I enjoy doing those kind of things very much. So for most trips; I get pumped with just working out all the details. But for this trip; everything is looked after. I know the itinerary already and all I need to do is get my things together and be at the airport on time.
Inside of me I am very excited. This is something I have wanted to do since I first started in full time ministry over thirty years ago! It is also one of the last things on my bucket list that I compiled some fifteen years ago. I never thought I would ever go nor complete all of my bucket list! God is so good! In fact even the finances that came together for me to go, is a God thing. I stepped out in faith before I had the money; which is not like me to do. But I sensed God wanted me to go at this time.
After I made the commitment to go...I need to back up. For those who know me; I raise purebred rabbits for breeding stock and show. This has been a life long hobby of mine. Anyway, after I made the commitment to travel on the trip; I received a call out of the blue inquiring if I could fulfill a shipment of rabbits to Trinidad. It was specific: it had to be 20 New Zealand Whites and 20 Californians with half of each breed split between bucks and does. They had to be tattooed and have a pedigree. Now this is late in November and it is unlikely for me to have that many rabbits and of that combination. However, after going out to the barn and going through them.....I had exactly what was needed with even a few extra with tattoo and all! I have never sold rabbits for such an endeavor before and the income will pay for almost all of the trip! Again, God is good!
It's 44 days till Israel!
