You Are What You Eat!

You’ve probably heard the phrase “you are what you eat” or the one that says “healthy eating is the key to wellbeing”.

Spiritual health is no different.  There is so much available to us today.  With the Hollywood,  television, the internet, social media and all the print material ….there is a lot of choices in what we feed on. 

And just as it is physically,  it’s the same in our spirits “healthy eating is the key to well being”.

Jesus told us that He was the bread of life (Jn 6:35).

Bread is one of the worlds oldest staple foods!

Jesus went on to say that coming to him and “eating bread from him”, that you would never be hungry.  In other words He satisfies!

Now you know and I know that there are lot’s of temptations to eat all kinds of stuff that are not good for us.  Often those things that taste very good are very bad for us.

We know this and yet we still eat the stuff.

I challenge you to eat well.  Go to the table and eat the bread of life to find your daily sustenance.  Open the bible and read portions every day. If you don’t have a Bible…find an online Bible…

If you don’t know where to start….find the book of Mark in the New Testament. Read a chapter.  Take some time and think about it.  Talk to Jesus about it.


There’s lots of angel cake out there!  Don’t get sidetracked….go to the real thing and feed on  the bread of life…..Jesus Christ!

It Takes Courage

It takes courage to live life!

It takes lot’s of courage to live a good life!

So many distractions.  So many temptations.

God calls us to live a life after Himself.  The example shown to us is found in Jesus Christ.  His life was all about fulfilling the Fathers’ will.

 “Enter through the narrow gate because the gate and road that lead to destruction are wide. Many enter through the wide gate. But the narrow gate and the road that lead to life are full of trouble. Only a few people find the narrow gate. Matthew 7:13-14 (GW)
It takes courage to take the narrow road when most of the others are going by way of the wide.

It takes courage to follow Jesus!


My prayer: Lord Jesus give us the courage in this age and in this day to follow after you.  To live a good life that is honest, pure, holy and pleasing to you….to do your will.  Amen.

What Are You Growing in Your Garden?

There’s a man by the name of James Allen who once said that “Good thoughts bear good fruit, bad thoughts bear bad fruit - and man is his own gardener.[1]

I like that last part….man is his own gardener!

So what are you growing in your garden of life?

Negativity?

Criticism?

Jealousy?

Revenge?

Fear?

Anger?

Or perhaps you are just feeling sorry for yourself?

Remember you reap what you sow!

That’s why as a follower of Jesus, the scripture tells us to think about :

….. whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--………. Philippians 4:8 (NIV)

Remember,  the things you think about the most will determine the kind of fruit produced in your life?
So, what kind of fruit are you producing…is it bad fruit or is it good fruit?
Summing it all up, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse…… And God, who gives peace, will be with you.  Philippians 4:8-9 (MSG)

Have You Lost the Joy of Your Religion?

Do you find it dry, boring or even joyless?

There’s a reason for those feelings because when you treat your faith like a religion; your approach is that of doing.  Doing the rules and doing the right thing.  It’s good to follow the rules and what’s right.  But there’s no joy in it; if that’s all there is.

God speaking through the prophet Isaiah said that “ I will pour water on him who is thirsty”.

Water refreshes, fill us and gives us life.

Religion is all about doing.  True faith is about a relationship.

That’s what Jesus wants with us; a relationship.  Do you yearn for real joy in your faith?


Then may this prayer be your prayer: Dear Jesus, pour the water of heave down on me; draw me close to you and fill me with your joy.  Amen.

What Time Is It?

Hey what time is it?

It’s later than you think!

In the time of this introduction each of us have moved 5 seconds closer to the next life.  Now, that can be a scary thought!

We’re all going to move from this life to the next.  The question is where in the next life will you go?

Well, that’s determined in this life.  Whoa, that’s another scary thought.

That’s why it’s so important not to waste the time you have.  We need to focus on what’s important.

That’s where Jesus helps us, he said that no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. (Jn 3:3)

In other words; you can’t arrive without seeing and you can only see it with a new birth.  We must be born into a new life!  A spirit life in which God reigns.  We then will have the sight to see the way.


Hey, what time is it?

So Many Voices!

Do you feel the tension?

There are so many voices (spirits) to follow in the world.

With mass global communication and social media, the spirit voices are many!

Which should we listen too?  Which are right?

The Psalmist prayed “renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psm 51:10)

If a right spirit is needed; there must be a wrong spirit?

Only god can give us the right spirit; the Holy Spirit to show us the way to that which is right.

That’s my prayer; may it be yours too!
